Day 4 of FM auctions reaches 643 cr

Information & Broadcasting (I&B) Ministry has informed that at the close of the fourth day of bidding, 80 channels in 55 cities became provisionally winning channels with cumulative provisional winning price of around INR 643 Crore against their aggregate reserve price of about INR 391 Crore. Thus the summation of provisional winning prices surpassed INR 550.18 Crore, which is the total reserve price of 135 channels.

To put things in perspective, the first batch auction for phase 3 is being held for 135 FM Channels in 69 existing cities of Phase II. Till now, 16 rounds of bidding are over. Source: I&B Ministry

Interestingly on Day Four, bid for Delhi climbed up to INR 86,57,45,468!  And became top of the table, while Mumbai dropped to second place with INR 78,00,67,006.

Ahmedabad and Pune too saw upward movement on day three. Bidding for Ahmedabad reached INR 24,95,85,716 with excess demand of 3 for a single channel available and Pune, INR 29,11,64,276 with three bidders for its two available channels.

The cities that are applicable for a percentage increase in their bidding price today include:  Ahmedabad (5%), Amritsar (1%), Bengaluru (5%), Bhubaneshwar (8%), Chandigarh (1%), Chennai (5%),  Delhi (5%), Guwahati (5%), Jaipur (5%), Kolhapur (5%), Nagpur (5%), Nasik (5%), Patiala (1%), Patna (5%), Pune (5%), Rourkela (5%).
