Meetu Jain quits from Times Now

Recently, English news channel Times Now had initiated an inquiry against its Deputy News Editor Meetu Jain who, according to a PIL, asked Essar for a car for local use in 2012 during her employment with CNN-IBN.

Meetu Jain has quit as Deputy News Editor of Times Now over the much controversial Essar leaks. In a recent tweet she mentioned, “For all trolls salivating for my scalp: Here's the good news. My resignation has been accepted.  #Essarleaks.” She also tweeted, “For all investigative journos making sly inferences. Prove quid pro quo not just with Essar but any corporate group.”

In the four accused journalists, Jain is the third journalist who has resigned after Sandeep Bamzai, Editor of Mail Today and Anupama Airy, Energy Editor of Hindustan Times resigned last week.

As per media reports, Times Now Editor in Chief Arnab Goswami and the management had asked for an official explanation from her on February 27th and she was relieved of her official responsibilities.
