In thirst of knowing a little more of how Microsoft is going to market their product in India, Adgully had a quick conversation with Raghuvesh Sarup, Head of Sales at Microsoft Mobile Device Sales

While the device has the same USP’s of that of the Nokia Lumia, some of them being the best in class camera, the best hardware, the best services like Skype and a lot more. This product is designed in a package which is very attractive and appealing to the consumer.

Sarup adds that, “The product is inspired by the Indian consumer in a very large manner and it is definitely made for India.”

In an aggressive distribution strategy, the company plans to have a multi channel distribution. They do not want to abstain from using any form of distribution. They will be catering to all forms of retail and won’t discriminate in any form of channel as they’re eager for all Indians to have this phone.

The media mix being both mass and niche at touch points. Sarup said that, “They would have decent amount of presence on Print and Television to begin with. Apart from using all major publications we also will be using substantial regional splash (more than what they've done so far). Later we will do a lot of investment in the digital space we will have storytelling and live interactions on how to actually use the services.”

Speaking about being ahead in the digital space, Sarup is of the opinion that it’s more of a unique proposition. He adds, “There is no end to end company with an end to end product and we are one of those. We will do our best to give the best hardware and software option.”

While the trends are moving towards applications and using of applications, Microsoft definitely seems to be in the lead as of now. By: Archit Ambekar | Twitter: @aambarchit
