Deborah Ball named Asia Editor for The Wall Street Journal

Deborah Ball has been named the Asia Editor for The Wall Street Journal, stationed in Singapore to lead regional coverage with a team of journalists across Asia. Previously serving as the deputy chief of world coverage in London, Ball will continue her role within the APAC region, reporting to the WSJ's World Coverage Chief, Gordon Fairclough. With over 25 years at the Journal, Ball has been instrumental in reporting major European events, including the Ukraine conflict. Her reporting experience spans across business, finance, and politics in cities like Milan, London, Zurich, and Rome. Ball is also the author of "House of Versace," published in 2010 by Random House. She steps into the role previously held by Andrew Dowell, who now heads to Dubai as the Middle East editor to manage coverage on the Israel conflict, regional tensions, and the U.S.-Saudi Arabia relations.
