Dentsu veteran Fumio Oshima named Rediffusion Group Chairman

Fumio Oshima, a seasoned professional with extensive experience at Dentsu, has been named as the Group Chairman of Rediffusion. In the early 2000s and the mid to late 1990s, he held prominent roles at Dentsu Inc, serving as the Senior Managing Director, Executive VP, and as a Director on the Global Board of Publicis. Oshima's appointment was approved by the Rediffusion Board in Tokyo without any objections. He originally joined Dentsu Inc in Tokyo in 1965 and holds a management degree from the United States. Over the years, he has managed a diverse portfolio of Japanese and non-Japanese clients, including Phillip Morris, Coca-Cola, and Nestle. During the mid-80s, he spent around a decade in Düsseldorf, Germany, where he significantly expanded Dentsu's business in Europe. Oshima was also instrumental in launching Dentsu in India in 2003 and played a pivotal role in establishing Dentsu's presence in China.

Rediffusion is one of India's best-known agencies, and I have known both Diwan Arun Nanda and Dr. Sandeep Goyal for nearly 30 years now and have closely followed the success of both Rediffusion and Everest."

Until 2018, Rediffusion operated as a joint venture, with Young & Rubicam and Dentsu jointly holding a 20% equity stake in the agency. In 2021, Tanya & Sandeep Goyal's Mogaé Group acquired a 100% stake in the company.

The Rediffusion Group comprises nearly 350 employees and includes various ad agencies like Next by Rediffusion, Rediffusion, Everest, Rediffusion Studios, Ladyfinger, Rediffusion SmartMedia, Rediffusion AI Design, along with entities like Red Lab, The Bharat Lab, and ICYMI, which focus on consumer and strategy insights. The group has offices in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Kolkata.
