India News 'BETIYAN' to feature Arunima Sinha, the first female amputee to climb the Mount Everest

India News presents 'Betiyan', a special half hour show dedicated to those women achievers who fighting against all odds, set landmarks and became inspirations to many.

This week, the show features Arunima Sinha, the very first female amputee to climb the Mount Everest. She recounted the memories of the horrible night of 2011 that changed her life forever. She was pushed out of a running train by a gang of thieves and her leg was run over by a train. In that incident, she lost her left leg and got it amputated. A national level volleyball player who also qualified for the Head Constable in the CISF didn't give up, kept her spirit high and climbed the Everest with a prosthetic leg. On the show, she shares what made her take this challenge, about her preparations, experiences and her future plans.
