Producer Anand praises Ankita's performance in 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar'

When everybody is praising Ankita Lokhande Jain for her powerful presence in the movie ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’, which hit screens on March 22, the veteran producer also hails the actor’s dedication and commitment

When 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar', directed by actor Randeep Hooda, garners rave reviews, Yamunabai, the female lead portrayed by actor Ankita Lokhande Jain, is also receiving widespread acclaim. Despite limited screen time, the actor has succeeded in making the character a strong presence felt in all the scenes she appears in. Now, hailing Ankita for her hard work and commitment that has resulted in the success of the character, Anand Pandit, the producer of the movie, says that her stellar performance in the movie 'Manikarnika' was one of the reasons why they selected her for 'Swatantrya Veer Savarkar'.

“While considering an actress for the role of Yamunabai, our first priority was to find someone with a Maharashtrian background. Yamunabai, aka Mai, the wife of Savarkar, is a strong character. When selecting Ankita for the role, we also took into account her excellent performance as Jhalkaribai in the movie 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi,” adds Mr. Pandit.

He also mentioned that Ankita put in an exceptional dedication to understand the significance of her character. "She made that extra effort to delve into the history and the importance of Mai in Savarkar's life, and that has truly paid off, as evidenced by the appreciation she is receiving for her portrayal," says Mr Pandit.
