Television actress Dolly Sohi passes away

Actress Dolly Sohi ,known for her roles in shows like Bhabhi ,Kammal,Kusum and many other hit shows lost her battle with cervical cancer on March 8,2024 at the age of 48. The actress left her acting career post her marriage in early 2000s and settled in Canada ,however after a few years,post  giving birth to her daughter Amelie,she came back to Mumbai to continue her acting career.  She confessed that she could not stay away from acting and wanted to come back in front of the camera. 

 

Dolly initially claimed that her husband NRI Avneet Dhanowa will soon return to the country to be with her ,however eventually ,she stated that her marriage is in trouble.  She had mentioned that they were living separately for some months. They apparently faced compatibility issues after a few years of their marriage then. Since then Dolly had been staying in India and did many shows on television like Hitler Didi, Devon Ke Dev Mahadev,Meri Ashiqui Tum Se Hi,Kumkum Bhagya,Parineetii, and many others. 

 

The actress was last seen in the show Jhanak on Star Plus, she decided to leave the show a month back after she could not continue it due her health issues. She informed  the production house that  post completing her chemotherapy ,she was going through radiation and it was not possible for her to continue shooting for daily soap. So,she decided to quit the show.

 

Dolly had been active on Instagram and used to share about her work and personal life too. Few days ago she also posted a picture of her sister Amandeep Singh ,who was hospitalised. Sadly Amandeep ,who was part of the show  Badtameez Dil , too passed away a day before Dolly due to jaundice. Their brother Manu  Sohi confirmed the deaths of his sisters to the media. Both sisters were said to have been admitted to the Apollo Hospital in New Mumbai.
