Zee TV surging on TRP charts!

Zee TV is strengthening its foothold in the Hindi GEC domain. According to TAM data for week 27 of 2012; sourced from TAM subscribers, Zee TV has garnered 238 GRPs, thus earning it the second position.

Not only this, the channel has also acquired the second position in the digital space with 240 GRPs. Zee TV has consistently been the leader in the prime time slot on weekends with 35 GRPs.

We tried to talk to a few marketers to gauge what the instant leap meant. An industry insider, on conditions of anonymity said, “Zee is boosting up the non-fiction segment. Shows like Fear Files and Dance India Dance seem to be working in Zee’s favour. It is also a huge risk to experiment with unexplored genres. But, the channel has pulled it off successfully.”

It is interesting to note that Fear Files launched with a 3.8 TVR. The recently launched paranormal based series has received great ratings. It has an average 3.5 TVR. Besides, Dance India Dance continues to exhilarate audiences with an average of 3.7 TVR.

Zee’s popular daily “Punar Vivaah” is the slot leader with 3.0 TVR. It airs at 10:30 pm from Monday- Friday. The show which talks about remarriages has become an instant hit with the audiences. Its popularity has done wonders for the show and the channel.

Zee TV also rules the non prime time slot (12 -16 hrs) with 28 GRPs.
